Swindon Town striker/midfielder Andy Caton has been released from the club it has been confirmed.
Caton who had a bright career ahead of him after scoring against Wrexham in his senior debut during the 2004/05 season, suffered several injury set-backs in his career at Town and new boss Maurice Malpas decided it was time for Caton to find somewhere else to play his football.
Caton`s last senior appearance for Town came under former boss Dennis Wise last season before suffering from injuries once again.
Caton`s last goal for Swindon was against Chippenham Town in the Wiltshire Premier Shield last month.

I thought he had been given a stay of execution!!
Yet another rubbish youth player that promised so much but yet delivered so little. Aside from Tozer and a couple of others, all we have produced in the youth set-up is rubbish – for sooo many years now.
He looked good because he is good. Malpas is making a mistake by releasing him and Sturrock was very unprofessional by refusing to even talk to him.
