Former Swindon Town defender and long-term crock Pat Kanyuka has found a football league club in the form of Northampton Town.

The 22 year old was offered a short term deal from Danny Wilson but failed to deliver an acceptance or rejection of said offer so was therefore released by the Town manager on the day Town players returned to pre-season training in the summer of 2009. The rumours at the time suggested that the Congolese defender had turned up that day only to be told to leave (key word: RUMOUR).

After an unsuccessful trial with Scottish Premier League outfit Motherwell he was re-emerged a Northampton Town where he has signed a 3 month contract.

Kanyuka made his league debut in the 0-0 draw with lowly Grimsby Town. Kanyuka has since stated his claim for a longer deal by setting his new employers the target of a Play-Off place – the sort of quotes Kanyuka once made while in Maurice Malpas’ woeful Town side.

There is no doubt that if fit Pat Kanyuka can perform quite well, especially at League Two level but the Cobblers could soon discover that after that one good performance a poor one and/or injury could follow!
